Throughout your executive track program, you have been asked to either reflect on and/or identify things like your leadership style, your strengths, and your weaknesses.  As an executive leader, you will likely have the opportunity to build a team around you. This is one place where knowing your strengths, but more importantly, your weaknesses are important. The wise leader builds a team with colleagues who have strengths that complement the leader’s weaknesses.

Scenario: You have been promoted to the position of Sr. VP of a new organization department.  You are given the opportunity to hire three Associate VPs to report to you.  Understanding your own strengths and weaknesses, what qualities or characteristics will you look for in candidates that will fill the gaps that you have? How will this contribute to your success in your new position?

SOLUTION

The candidates in question must be strong leaders with a knack for making confident and important decisions, often in place of the CEO or president. Further, they ought to be effective communicators who can clearly communicate their ideas, present new directions or concepts, and lead the organization with clarity and transparency. The candidates must also have an analytical mindset where they should be able to analyze sales data, market trends, and customer behavior to make informed decisions and identify areas for improvement (Endrikat et al., 2021)…………………………………………$5
