My Nursing Philosophy.

After being a nurse for ten years, I decided to pursue an advanced degree in nursing. I decided to pursue the bridge program, Associate Degree in Nursing, to master’s degree in nursing in the Executive Track. I just completed my bachelor’s degree in nursing in July and am now onto the masters’ classes. Throughout this paper, I will discuss my definition of nursing, why nursing is important to me, what nursing theories have guided my practice. I will also discuss the qualities, skills, and values of a nurse and how I intend to impact society throughout my nursing career.

What is nursing to me, and why is nursing important?

Becoming a nurse has always been my dream. Growing up, my brother suffered from epilepsy, which is what drew me to becoming a nurse. Watching him suffer from seizures now and then and helping my parents care for him led me to choose nursing as a career. I desired to help people in need.
