Solution
For this discussion, I choose to discuss Vietnam. The Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union strongly fueled the Vietnam War. The war took more than 3 million lives, with more than half of those being Vietnamese people (Duiker, 2015). The war ended after communists seized South Vietnam in 1975. In 1976, the country became the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Both the Vietnamese and the veterans were affected by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, with levels of drunkenness, suicide, and drug addiction rising.
