Diagnostic tests: Covid-19 PCR (Negative), Influenza PCR (Positive).
Medications: Acetaminophen 325mg 1-2 tabs po every 4 hours PRN pain/fever, max 4.000/day, Dextromethorphan 30mg/5ml.10ml po every 12 hours PRN cough (Physicians Desk, 2022).

Client education: Patient should inform the school and take a rest for about two days. Increase fluids, salt water gargles for sore throat. Patient should practice hand hygiene by washing hands with soap/sanitizer and cover mouth when coughing or sneezing (Schellack, Schellack, & Ismail, 2020). Patient should take medications as prescribed and report any severe side effects.
Follow up: Return to clinic after two days in case there is no improvement. The patient should seek care immediately for uncontrolled fever, dizziness, or worsening headache. The patient should schedule for a flu vaccine as well as COVID booster (Schellack, Schellack, & Ismail, 2020).

History of present illness Patient is an 18-year old male who presents with acute onset of cough, sore throat, headache, and fatigue with started a couple of days ago. States using
ibuprofen for headache with some relief. Reports throat pain at 6-8/10, “feels like razor blades in his throat”. Warm liquids soothes throat. Body aches that feel like “run over by Shaq O’Neil”.
