SOLUTION
Ron Smith is a 74-year-old Caucasian male with multiple co-morbidities, including a seizure disorder, COPD (oxygen-dependent), bipolar disorder, and Parkinson’s disease. He experiences shortness of breath and fatigue with any exertion and relies on a walker for safe ambulation. Recently, he sold his home and moved into an assisted living facility (ALF) because he no longer felt safe being alone after experiencing a fall where he was down on the ground for 16 hours before he was able to call for help. His wife passed away six months ago.
Mr. Smith is a Vietnam veteran and is actively involved with the local VFW and his church. He has a stepson who lives in another state, with whom he maintains regular contact. Ron enjoys socializing with the staff and other residents at his new ALF.
