1. Describe the specific culture/ethnic population selected in detail.

The population selected is the older males of age 65 years and above from the black American ethnic group. The blacks are a significant ethnic group in the U.S. Individuals from this ethnic group have either complete or incomplete descendent from the black racial classes found in the Africa continent.

2. Describe the rationale for selecting this population.

The black’s health has been the most disadvantaged over the past decades in the U.S population. One of the significant reasons behind the health disparities among blacks is race discrimination leading to health inequities. The blacks’ health inequalities’ ultimate impact is early deaths resulting from disorders such as hypertension (Still, Ferdinand, Ogedegbe & Wright Jr, 2015).
