COURSE:
NR632: Nurse Executive Concluding Graduate Experience II
Instructions
Review the following section from your course textbook: Chapter 4, Project Responsibility and Accountability, and Risk Assessment and Management Plan.
All projects and change initiatives face some type of risk. The larger the project, the more risks there are and the more significant the impact that the risk will have on your project should it arise.
For your graded assignment this week you will be constructing a risk register. Your text suggests five steps in documenting a response to the risk:
- Identify Risk—Internal and external including vendors; what are the skill levels of all
- Assess Risk—Prioritize low, medium, high
- Manage Risk—Determine—Remove, shift, and decrease impact; reassess
- Monitor and Control Each Risk—For higher risk, implement more frequent monitoring
- Establish an Ongoing Management Plan for Risk Assessment—that requires constant review; update and remove those risks not impacting project
Identify one risk that you will include on your risk register and address each of the five steps for that risk.
SOLUTION
Prof and class,
What is the PICOT question? For Domiciliary Clinic program nurses, will implementing a 10-hour Monday through Thursday rotating schedule every 4 weeks compared to the current 8-hour tour Monday through Friday increase employee satisfaction from 25% to 75% satisfaction within 6 months of implementation?
Identify one risk that you will include on your risk register and address each of the five steps for that risk.
Identify Risk: Risk is identified as internal. The identified risk is the late onboarding of new nurses needed for the medication administration line. They are identified as normally currently because they are already selected but need onboarding.
Assess Risk: Risk level is identified as high. Without the new onboarding of trained nurses, there will be an inability to complete the cross-training of the medication……………………………..$5
