The rationale for the 42-year-old presenting with joint pain, fatigue, episodes of chills, and ESR of 56 mm/hr is that she may be having an inflammation as well as an autoimmune condition. The specific reason as indicated by symptoms of high ESR may be the presence of inflammation condition (Alende-Castro et al., 2019). The pain worsens sometimes in the morning and this could indicate rheumatoid arthritis.
